GCSE RESULTS 2011

25 August 2011: All 59 GCSE students at the Marist earned 5 A* to C grades, with 100% pass rate across the board.

Headteacher Mr McCloskey commented, "We are delighted to have maintained our year on year record of sustained academic excellence. Almost half our girls GCSE’s are graded as either A* or A marks and the average number of GCSE passes for each Marist girl is an impressive 12.  Against the backdrop of 750,000 pupils receiving their results today the Marist is proud to maintain its reputation as a school which builds hope filled futures for each and every girl."

24 August 2010: It is another successful year of GCSE results for The Marist Senior School, with yet another 100% pass rate. In addition, 100% of students received at least 5 A*-C grades. Against the national average context where 22% of students attained A8 and A grades, the Marist student achievement profile for A* and A grades was a remarkable 59%.

In addition to the outstanding A Level results obtained last week, the high academic performance levels of the Marist is once more underlined in an emphatic manner today. Girls at the Marist took no less than 10 GCSE, with the majority sitting 12-13 different subjects. Coral Hall-Casserly was one of the top performers this years with 10 A*, and 1 A. Georgia Oakes received 9 A*, 2 A, Katie Frankel and Amy Crowder achieved 9 A*, 1 and Ysabelle Embury-Young and Georgia Hill both obtained 8A* and 3 A’s. Catherine Serjeant, Alice Bennett, Lisa Kelsey, Emma Forbes-Cockell, Rose Vernon and Amy Shingles all did exceptionally well, receiving a string of A*-A’s between them.
 

A-LEVEL RESULTS 2011

18 August 2011: It is another successful year of A Levels for The Marist Senior School with 100% pass rate, and with over 75% of their students receiving all A* to B grades.

At AS Level, more than 20% of the year group achieved straight A grades, including Head Girl Katie Frankel, Deputy Head Girl Amy Crowder, Ysabelle Embury–Young, Coral Hall-Casserly, and Catherine Serjeant who all received four A grades.
 
Josie Teale, secured herself a place at Girton College Cambridge with her outstanding results. She commented, “I didn’t check to see if I had been accepted until this morning. I am extremely excited and pleased to have got my grades and I am now looking forward to University this September.” Two other students, who particularly excelled and will also go onto top ranking universities, are Maria Bhatti, former Head Girl and Rebecca Ferreira.
 
Clare Trelfa, Deputy Headteacher commented, “We are delighted that our Marist Sixth Form students have achieved another fantastic set of results, which demonstrate the students’ high standards of academic attainment, their work ethic and commitment to their studies.” she added, “Their Marist Education along with the dedication of their teachers and the support of their families, has fully equipped all our girls to move onto top universities in the UK and abroad. We are incredibly proud of our students, and wish them every blessing as they advance towards the next stage of their education and personal development.”
 

DCSF League Tables (January 2009)

Marist School Celebrates League Table Success

15 January, 2009:  The Marist Senior School congratulated its students and teachers today as the DCSF performance tables were published.  The School’s GCSE & A Level performance is ranked amongst the top performing schools in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (*Source: The Times League Tables published 15th Jan 09). 

In 2008, 100% of Marist A Level students passed with 83% achieving A and B grades. GCSE students achieved 85% A*, A and B grades, and also enjoyed a 100% pass rate.  GCSE students Georgina Singer, Alex Kyjak-Lane, Guiseppina Magistro and Laura Fox performed exceptionally well and were among the top ten highest scoring students nationally in RE, Spanish and Italian.

Headmaster Mr Karl McCloskey commented, “I am delighted to hear these results as they again reflect the hard work and commitment shown by our students and their teachers” he added “I am proud that our students continue to excel in their examinations with four girls deservedly recognised as being amongst the highest national achievers.”

DCSF League Tables

Marist School Ranked No. 2 Independent School in the UK

January 2008: The Marist Senior School was celebrating this week as the DCSF performance tables were published. The School has done incredibly well in its GCSE & A Level performance and is ranked 1st in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (Source: The Times League Tables published 10th Jan 08). The Marist is also ranked second highest performing Independent School in the UK (Source: The Daily Telegraph League Tables published 10th Jan 08).

While the school celebrated its success last Thursday morning, a letter arrived in the post to Mr McCloskey, Marist Senior School Headteacher, from Mr Jim Knight MP Minister of State for Schools and Learners, congratulating him and the school on the excellent performance that has been demonstrated at Key Stage 4 in the 2007 Achievement and Attainment Tables. Mr Knight also commented that “The results for The Marist school show that the school is amongst the top performing schools this year based on sustained improvement in 5+A*-C GCSEs (and equivalent) including English and Mathematics GCSEs”
