Spiritual Formation

Religious Education, imparting the major tenents of the Christian faith, is an integral part of the curriculum and the foundation of our entire educational process. The Marist Preparatory School welcomes girls of all Christian denominations and those in sympathy with the ethos.

All children are expected to take part in the religious life of the school, by attending and contributing to class collective worships, assemblies, the celebration of Mass, services of Reconciliation, and religious lessons. All children are equally valued for what they bring to the school.

The whole school prays the Rosary in October and May which are the months dedicated to Mary, Patron of our school.  Please click on the link below to see the prayers that are said by the girls and their teachers.

The school follows the recommended Portsmouth Diocesan Scheme 'God Matters' in the teaching of religious education. Catholic girls from age 7 are given instruction to prepare them to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion, in the local Catholic parishes. These girls will make their First Communion during the months of May or June of that academic year.
