Admissions & Registration
Admissions Policy - The Governors of the Marist Schools have admissions criteria for pupils joining the schools. The Marist Schools are Catholic Schools. The Schools welcome all Christians and those in sympathy with our ethos. Priority is given to siblings and to those girls who begin school in our Early Years Department when it comes to transferring to the Preparatory School. Subject to meeting the entrance requirements of the Senior School, at age 11, Marist Preparatory pupils have precedence over girls seeking admittance from elsewhere. About one half of the Senior School places are available to girls from other schools.

Admissions Procedure: Following on from your initial enquiry we warmly invite you to visit us at the Marist Preparatory School.  The next step is registration to confirm your interest. There is a fee (currently £100) that accompanies this process which is non-returnable. Places in the Early Years and Infant Departments are offered, subject to availability, on a first come first served basis and taking into account our admissions criteria. There is a high demand for places in our Early Years Department and you are advised to register early if you are interested.

Girls seeking to enter the Preparatory School from Year 3 (age 7) upwards are expected to sit an entrance assessment. On the satisfactory completion of this assessment a place may be formally offered. A waiting list operates once all places are allocated.

When a place is offered, a deposit of £250 is payable when the offer is accepted. This deposit, less £50 admisistration charge and starter pack, will be retained until your daughter leaves the school, when it will be credited to the final account for fees and any extras which may be due at that time. The deposit is not refundable if a girl does not take up a place at the school.

Once your place is confirmed, all further necessary information will be given to you in the form of an orientation pack e.g. uniform list and Thrift Shop details, club timetables and term dates. New girls are invited to a ‘Taster Session’ in the term before they start.

Scholarships
The Preparatory School offers six academic scholarships that each have one third fee remission for September entry 2011.  These scholarships will be offered to Year 3 students which are tenable to the end of Year 6 (both internal and external candidates are eligible).  The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of commitment to school work and achievement and are subject to annual review.  The Preparatory School will also offer two financial support awards each year to external candidates called the ‘Chavoin Awards’.  Applicants should be Catholic pupils studying at a Catholic State Primary School.  The awards will be offered to academically gifted students and grant up to 50% fee remission for the duration of the student’s academic career at the Marist Schools.  The amount awarded will be means tested and be subject to annual review.

Sibling Discounts
As a sign of how we value the family, a reduction of tuition fees by 10% is made for any girl who currently has one or more sister/s in any part of the Marist Schools. A further discount of 25% is offered for a third daughter and no charge for a fourth daughter simultaneously in the school.
