The Marist Race for Life
12 July 2010

At the weekend, a 30 strong team of girls, mums, sisters and friends from the Marist Schools took part in the annual Race for Life event at Windsor Race Course. The team hope to raise in excess of £500 between them which will go direct to cancer research. Sporting uniquely designed t-shirts with all the team members names on the back the small group of women and girls who aged between 7 and 47 ran, jogged and walked the 5km course in a scorching 28 degrees heat.
Two sisters from the Senior School, Alyssa and Greta Spitzer, did particularly well in the 11am event; Alyssa (16 years old) won the 5km race in the time of 22.01 and her younger sister Greta (13 years old) came 4th in a time of 24.20. Mrs Bishopp, Head of PE at the Marist Senior School said, “It was a thoroughly enjoyable day supporting a fantastic charity and we look forward to entering another team next year.”
