At the end of December, sixty five year 10-13 students flew to Salzburg, Austria, with 7 staff members for what the school hopes will become an annual ski trip.  The trip was organised through IBT Travel who specialise in snowsport courses for schools.

The students were split into six ability groups comprising two groups each at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.  Beginners started with rudimentary drills and practices on the nursery slopes and gradually progressed to blue runs.  Intermediate groups improved their skiing techniques using different drills, exercises and practice sessions and skied blue and red runs.  The most advanced groups consolidated their existing skills and skied red and black runs with their instructors.  The girls had access to over 860km of pistes in the Ski Amade region of St Johan and there were 5 hours of skiing each day in Alpendorf and Flachau.

Restaurants were located in many areas of the resort and well deserved hot lunch breaks were fully supervised by all instructors.  Different après ski activities were available each evening including a visit to the Christmas market in Salzburg, pizza night, karaoke and quizzes.  There was a presentation evening on the last day where each student received a special award courtesy of their instructors. In addition, school staff presented their own awards each night such as ‘turkey of the day’!
