Mrs Lizzie Guinney has a place in the final for the National Teaching awards after winner Outstanding New Teacher in the Southern resgion earlier this year. She started at The Marist Senior School in September and is our new head of Geography.

Last year Mrs Guinney was nominated for a teaching award by a student at her previous school, Farnborough Hill.  Following a report by the head teacher there and a visit by 3 judges to the school, she won the award for Outstanding New Teacher in the southern region.

Mrs Guinney will be attending the National Teaching Award  finals this weekend in London along with 150 other finalists.  There are around 14 regional winners in her category and the award ceremony, which will be hosted by Christine Bleakley and Jeremy Vine, will be televised on the BBC.

We wish Mrs Guinney the best of luck in the finals!
