09 June 2009
9 June, 2009: The Marist Senior School has been awarded an Eco Schools Bronze Certificate and has held an Environment Week to raise further awareness of environmental concerns by involving the entire school in a range of different eco projects.
Ms Lydia Spoors, Head of Year 11, organised the Environment Week to raise further awareness of environmental concerns by instigating a range of different eco projects. The theme of the week was to ‘Reduce’ with all students aiming to reduce their consumption of natural resources. Displays showing local and global environmental issues were available in the library and a book exchange programme was introduced to save paper. Several girls planted tree saplings in the school grounds and will be responsible for taking care of the saplings as they grow.
