Q.What are your happiest memories of your time at the Marist?
A. The friends I made and still have today. I also fondly remember a show the girls put on based on 'Top of The Pops'! It was great fun with everyone impersonating their favourite artist at the time, from Slade to Pan's People!
Q. What were your favourite subjects at school?
A. Speech and Drama plus English and, of course, Domestic Science with the unforgettable Sister Mary.
Q.Can you draw on your experiences at the Marist in your current career?
A. Sister Joan constantly enforcing the message of the importance of politeness and ladylike behaviour! A must in any career!
Q. What advice would you give to current pupils?
A. If you work hard, it's possible to achieve anything you want, but you have to reach for the stars.
Q.What is your typical day like?
A. Every day is different but generally it can involve general office duties such as phone calls, emails, site meetings and planning meetings to entertaining celebrities for lunch or attending glamorous events.
Q. What are the key traits needed to become an event manager?
A. I think you need good organisational skills; an eye for detail; never forget to say thank you and being able to handle and co-ordinate a team.
Q. What made you choose event management as a career?
A. I started organising events as a hobby for fun, then charity. Before then I had worked in the hotel and catering industry.
Q. What aspects do you find most rewarding?
A. I love the thrill of watching your dream become reality. Transforming a boring room into a palace (if required)!
Q. Finally, who is the nicest celebrity that you have met or worked with?
A. I like most of them but, if I had to choose, then Nanette Newman for her charming ladylike poise and professionalism - we made a TV programme together for Sky. I also love Chris Tarrant for his 'normal' approach to the crazy world of 'celebrity'!
