Welcome to The Marist Schools. Our Website will give you an impression of life here, but you really need to come and see us and meet the staff and pupils to appreciate what is so special about our schools.  Open days are held each year, but you are always most welcome to make an appointment to meet us and have a tour of the campus.

The aims of the schools are to provide an educational environment promoting excellence where:

  • your daughter is happy, secure and confident
  • her potential is recognised, valued and developed to the full
  • she develops the maturity, creativity and self-discipline to succeed in a challenging and rapidly changing world

Continuity
The Marist Schools provide a complete education for girls aged 2½ to 18 on a single campus. This enables a girl to enjoy her childhood in the company of the same friends and teachers as she progresses from Preparatory School through to Senior School. We place a strong emphasis on pastoral care, allowing girls who join at any age to integrate quickly and make friends.

The Marist Way
The schools recognise that a complete education fulfils a girl's academic, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. The dedicated and highly qualified staff foster discipline and a respect for scholarship that enable Marist girls to achieve consistently high academic results. The schools enjoy an outstanding reputation for sport, drama, music and the creative arts.

The schools were founded in 1870 by the sisters of the International Marist Order, the branch of the society of Mary that Jeanne Marie Chavoin established in France in 1826. The schools' motto 'sub Mariae Nomine' ('in Mary's Name') is an encouragement to emulate the faith, love, gentleness and discretion of the Mother of Jesus Christ. The schools have pioneered and consistently sustain the highest standards of girls' education to meet the changing demands of society. We welcome girls of all Christian denominations and those in sympathy with the schools' ethos.

We hope you enjoy reading more about the schools on the website and we look forward to welcoming you to our schools very soon.

With best wishes

Jenny Peachey and Karl McCloskey
